Mindful death

DSC04277-2.jpg

The Buddha taught that the preoccupation with death and its presence in everyday life can help us live more freely and peacefully with our lives and with ourselves. It sounds paradoxical but what other choice is there compared to the biggest fear that stands before us. Or is the fear the lack of knowing when and how it will happen? What will we leave behind, how will we say goodbye to everything dear to us? How do we meet grief with acceptance with softness and other natural and important fears.

We will all die, that's for sure, but how we react and deal with death is entirely up to us, and the possibility of living comfortably in the face of the greatest threat of all is indeed challenging and sometimes seems impossible in the tangle of anxieties, but perhaps we will taste and discover how possible, happy and liberating such a way of life that includes death in could be helpful.
